Santa Anita – 1st race – 5-Audacious Angel (4-1)

Didn’t get the best of runs when finishing a close fifth as the favorite in a downhill turf sprint in her most recent outing but seems quite likely to make amends today in this maiden extended sprint that has been switched to the main track.  The daughter of City Zip switches to Bejarano and has shown she can be just as effective, if not more so, on  dirt.  With clear sailing today, she should be along in plenty of time.

Santa Anita – 11th race – 6-Watch Me Now (3-1)

Showed plenty of ability in her debut when a much-troubled third vs. maiden $50,000 claimers, so much so that she was raised to the maiden special weight ranks for her next outing last month.  The hike in class proved too steep as the Keith Desormeaux-trained filly finished a non-threatening sixth, beaten nine lengths.  She’s back where she belongs today and should make the most of the opportunity.  Let’s make her a straight play and rolling exotic single.
