Churchill Downs – 2nd race – 7-Impressive Edge (5/2)

Could not have been more impressive than he was breezing a furlong in 9 4/5 seconds at the OBS March Sale and makes his debut today for trainer Steve Asmussen against a maiden juvenile field he simply should be too quick for.  The son of Harlan’s Holiday is an exciting prospect and should be fit and ready to explode at first asking.  Let’s hope to get close to his morning line of 5/2 both in the straight pool and in rolling exotic play.

Churchill Downs – 3rd race – 5-Zero Hour (3-1)

Makes his first start since a much troubled debut at Saratoga last summer and should be able to display his true ability this time around.  A $1.4 million son of Bernardini, this Mark Casse-trained colt has done everything right in the a.m. of late and should be fit and ready for a major effort in this seven furlong maiden special weight affair.  At 3-1 on the morning line he’s a rolling exotic single and straight play.
