Churchill Downs – 10th race – 7-Outsider Art (8-1)

Was finishing as well as anything when third in the Appalachian Stakes in her first start since October and seems likely to move forward against a similar band in today’s Edgewood Stakes.  The daugher of Five Star  Day has excellent tactical speed and can produce a second move, so Van Dyke can have her within striking range throughout before asking for a winning late bid.  Lightly-rced (just four starts) with plenty of upside for Sheppard and offers considerable value at 8-1 on the morning line both in the straight pool and in rolling exotic play.

Churchill Downs – 13th race – 6-Kiss Limit (3-1)

Looked very sharp winning a $50,000 claimer at Keeneland last month and should pay a quick dividend in his first start for new trainer D’Amato (24% first off the claim) in this starter’s allowance miler.  The son of Sky Classic has the perfect style for this trip, switches to top rider Prat, is strong in the speed figure department, and won his only prior one-turn race by the proverbial pole.  If you can get close to his morning line of 3-1, take it, and also use him as a rolling exotic single.
