Churchill Downs – 9th race – 4-Beach Patrol (8-1)

Two-for-two since joining the high percentage Phil D’Amato barn and seems capable of extending the streak in the American Turf Stakes.  The son of Lemon Drop Kid rallied from mid-pack to break his maiden two runs back with an exciting turn of foot and then dominated tougher foes on the lead throughout while earning a huge speed figure in his most recent outing.  California invader switches to Prat, lands a good inside draw, and should draft into an ideal pace-stalking position, ready to pounce when called upon. At 8-1 on the morning line he offers much value in the straight pool as well the rolling exotics.

Churchill Downs – 10th race – 11-American Freedom (6-1)

Broke his maiden at first asking with the type of style and pure talent that makes him the one to beat right back despite the raise to Stakes Company.  Son of Pulpit pressed the pace in hand, responded when asked and drew clear with power in the final furlong to register a sensation speed figure.  Has trained just as impressively since that race as he did before it, picks up Castellano, lands a good outside post, and should fold into a perfect pace prompting
