Belmont Park – 8th race – 3-Paige (4-1)
Should produce a forward move in this second-level allowance turf affair for fillies and mares after earning a career top figure in her comeback. Likes to settle and produce a late kick and should have every chance with Ortiz riding her back for Clement (23% with second-off-layoff runners). Daughter of Sky Mesa was Grade-1 placed as a 2-year-old, so there’s plenty to go back to. At 4-1 on the morning line she offers value both in the straight pool and in rolling exotic play.
Oak Tree at Pleasanton – 5th race – 5-Meiji (7/2)
Juvenile filly makes her debut in a soft spot and has worked like she’s fit and ready with a series of nice drills for Hollendorfer, whose stats with first-time starters (26% with a flat-bet profit) is quite impressive. With current main stable rider Hernandez taking the call, this daughter of Warrior’s Reward should outclass her modest foes. At 7/2 on the morning line she’s a strong straight play and rolling exotic single.
