Arlington Park – 6th race – 2-Kitten Silver (7/2)
Tipped his hand in his debut with an excellent runner-up performance, lagging to the head of the lane, taking hold, and then finishing strongest of all inside while needing just a bit more ground. With that effort behind him, the Stidham-trained son of Kitten’s Joy should produce a significant forward move in this middle distance turf event for older straight maidens. Comfortably drawn inside, retains Montalvo, and with good racing luck figures to be along in time and at 7/2 on the morning line offers value both in the straight pool and in rolling exotic play.
Belmont Park – 9th race – Moonshine Cat (4-1)
Showed much promise in her only outing as a two-year-old last September at Saratoga when she finished strongly but too late to be fourth, beaten only a half-length, in an abbreviated turf sprint for New York-bred juveniles. Returns for a high percentage outfit with a steady series of drills and looks ready to win off the bench at this seven furlong trip that should be right up her alley. The daughter of Girolamo is worth a play if you can get close to her morning line of 4-1.
