DEL MAR SPOTLIGHT RACES:

Sixth Race: Post: 3:00 PT
Top Pick: 7-Navy Man (5/2)

Had a promising debut run at Santa Anita last month when third in a fast, highly rated main track sprint for juveniles and seems certain to produce a significant forward move with that bit of experience behind him. The Bolt d’Oro colt was always close up along the rail and stayed on with courage through the lane to finish willingly while more than nine lengths clear of the rest. His speed figure was strong, so unless the first timer from the Bob Baffert barn (6-Gilmore) is something exceptional, this Michael McCarthy-trained 2-year-old should be hard to beat while offering value at or near his morning line of 5/2.

Ninth Race – Post: 4:30 PT
Top Pick: 8-Window Shopping (5-1)

First timer by American Pharoah from Monmouth Oaks-G3 winner Delightful Joy brought $700,000 as a yearling at Keeneland and has trained like a quality sort leading up to her racing debut in this one mile grass affair for juvenile fillies. Among her noteworthy workouts was a five furlong move last month in :58 3/5 while even but best with the multiple stakes winning older horse Tizamagician, so against this group the Richard Mandella-trained filly should be extremely live and well-meant at 5-1 on the morning line.
