Gulfstream Park – 3rd race – 4-Cat Ride (4-1)

Came off an 11-month layoff for his second career start and was scintillating in victory, blazing five furlongs on turf in 54 3/5 seconds while giving every indication that he’ll handle more ground if required.  Reportedly was gelded two days after that win and returns vs. first-level allowances foes on relatively short rest.  High potential sort seems capable of handling this tougher spot and at 4-1 on the morning represents good value both in the straight pool and in rolling exotic play

Belmont Park – 8th race – 3-A Lot (12-1)

Let’s go with a price in the Elusive Quality Stakes.  A Lot is a perfect one-for-one over this course and distance, having taken the Paradise Creek Stakes last year, and since then has been tried in nothing but route races, performing well but not really up to his best standard. He’s back sprinting today while making his first start since joining the Chad Brown barn and with the switch to Ortiz looks capable of producing a strong late kick.  At 12-1 on the morning line we’ll try him in the straight pool as well as in rolling exotic play.
