GULFSTREAM PARK – SIXTH RACE (Post time: 2:28 ET)

Strong Light gets the worst of the draw again – he’ll leave from the extreme outside post position in a middle distance affair with a very short run into the clubhouse turn – but the promising juvenile has a chance to simply outclass this field after finishing a very promising third in his debut at Churchill Downs last month despite losing many more lengths in ground that he was beaten by. The son of Brody’s Cause was fanned extremely wide into the clubhouse turn and into the backstretch, remained far wide when launching his best bid entering the lane, yet kept on coming before simply running out of room. Ignored on the tote at 29-1 in that race, the Dale Romans-trained colt should receive more than his fair share of play today, and with any kind of decent racing luck should be able to produce a winning late bid. He’s a worth a gamble at or near his morning line of 7/2.

FAIR GROUNDS – TENTH RACE (Post time: 4:35 ET)

Either Cocktail Moments was extremely well-hidden in the morning by her connections or she simply ran in on them when the daughter of Uncle Mo – completely untouched in the wagering at 26-1 – annihilated her stunned foes with a devastating late kick that produced a nine length maiden debut score at Churchill Downs last month. The victory was no fluke, as this Ken McPeek-trained two year old won despite a very wide trip from off the pace in a performance that was almost Zenyatta-like. Today we’ll find out what she’s really made when she tackles more seasoned rivals in the Untapable Stakes around two turns. Listed at 3-1 on the morning line, she’ll offer excellent value at that price if she can come close to verifying her initial impression.
