Keeneland – 3rd race – 10-Brinkley (4-1)
Returned off a layoff and was sharp in victory when beating maidens at Gulftream Park with a strong speed figure last month. The Pletcher-trained daughter of of City Zip sports a healthy work tab since that score and should produce a forward move in her first start vs. winners. Looks strong right back and appears to offer good value at or near her morning line of 4-1.
Keeneland – 6th race – Tweet Kitten (5/2)
Though he hasn’t been out since mid-December, this long-winded colt looks primed for a huge run in this 12-furlong marathon for second-level allowance horses. The Chad Brown stable has superior stats with layoff runners (27%) and this son of Kitten’s Joy has an excellent stalking style enabling Javier Castellano to place him pretty much wherever he wants. A troubled sixth when last seen in the Tropical Park Derby that earned him a career top speed figure, the consistent colt catches a considerably easier band today and should make the most of the opportunity.
