Keeneland – 4th race – 5-Veil (3-1)

This Shug McGaughey-trained 3-year-old tipped her hand in an excellent debut last month at Gulfstream Park, finishing a strong runner-up in a similar two-turn turf maiden affair without being knocked about, and seems sure to produce a significant forward move with that performance behind her.  The daughter of Hat Trick retains Lezcano, has two bullet workouts since raced, and gets an extra furlong to work with.  At 3-1 on the morning line she’s a straight play and rolling exotic single.

Aqueduct – 4th race – 7-Talkn Til Midnight (6-1)

First-time starter was impressive when previewing at the 2015 OBS April sale and then brought $180,000 at auction.  She finally makes it to the races a year later and sports a strong, steady work tab for Linda Rice that should have her fit and ready for a big effort first crack out of the box.  This is a powerful trainer-jockey combo, and in a race that looks on paper to be below par, the daughter of Broken Vow appears to have an excellent chance to win at first asking.  There should be plenty of value here at or near her 6-1 morning line.
