Leverage Plays: Late Pick 4 Analysis at Santa Anita Park on April 28th, 2018

Below is the early Pick 4 ticket for April 28th, 2018 at Santa Anita Park. As always the ticket is $20 or less.

Race 8

Englander (#9, 6-1) was simply given a race after breaking slowly first-time out for Phil D’Amato. He was entered on the turf, took money and stayed in the race once it switched to dirt. With the fitness from the mile race under his belt, this colt should explode down the hill, while running on the surface he is bred for.

Race 9

Loving Lynda (#7, 5-2) closed nicely to be 2nd on debut at this level. She is very logical and should get another nice pace setup in this spot.

Coco Kisses (#3, 6-5) disappointed as the favorite in the same race that Loving Lynda comes out of, but she did break slowly from the rail. Her debut effort was very solid and she is a front running threat if she can break with the field this time around.

Miss Ricochet (#5, 2-1) will also try to make amends for her flop as the chalk last time. She has a big class edge coming out of open company races and shortens up a full furlong.

Race 10

Cow Dog (#2, 3-1) will try to take this field as far as she can. She will likely make the lead and catches a field full of horses who are very polite when it comes to passing others.

Majestic Diva (#4, 8-1) appears to be rounding into her best form and is a threat to pick up the pieces if this race falls apart late.

Estherfourfourteen (#7, 4-1) is the ‘other’ Miyadi’ and should sit a perfect trip outside of her stablemate. She drops to the lowest level of her career and gets in at only 115 pounds with the apprentice.

Duranga (#6 5-2) seems to be out of form, but she returns to a sprint, drops in class and picks up the services of Flavien Prat.

Race 11

Skelton Pass (#9, 7-2) gets a huge class relief and owns a win down the hill. The Jacobson barn has begun to heat up at Santa Anita Park.

General Ike (#10, 6-1) returns to a turf sprint after disappointing on the dirt. He has run consistently well down the hill and should draft into a nice outside position just off the pace.

Secreto Primero (#1, 5-1) is only 3 for 23 lifetime, but is usually squarely in the mix down the hill. His numbers fit very well with this group and today could be the day that he breaks through.

$0.50 Pick 4 Ticket: 9 – 3,5,7 – 2,4,6,7 – 1,9,10   = $18
